Goodbye Enemy Airships... by moejo Goodbye Enemy Airships... by moejo
Full Title: Goodbye Enemy Airships, The Landlord Is Dead

This is probabily my most fav post rock album of all time, by the brilliant toronto based post rock band Do Make Say Think. the cresedeno/climax during landlord is dead will either leave you in tears, glued to your bed with to covers on your head, or mad. Most likely all 3.

I'd like to hear your first thoughs that came to your mind when you read the title and saw the pic (and heard the album hopefully, pretty please?)

GEATLIS is a tale full of thnder and sound, signifiying nothing

my first impression was "uh, why is the pic not loading? piece of shit ecomputer!" Obviously I hadn't scrolled down. Then I chuckled because I remembered your rant about needing models. It must have taken you a while to get the right angle? Is the wall really like this, or did you screw around with it? It would actually make a good album cover...

Never heard of that band, but that shouldn't be much of a surprise. My mom told richard gere to his face he was fat, grey and gay to his face, not realizing who he was lol. the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

I think I would get this more if I knew the music....

"Oh, this is one of [someone's screenname] technicalish ones... wait, this is not, it's the Wall ones. Is this the same person as the one who did the other one? Person leaving? Snatches of a person? Shadow and light, that's like silence and sound, music is silence and sound..."
There you have it, except it's not very enlightening.

Regarding DMST: Do Make Say Think is pretty good, but never really has been a favorite of mine. Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn is my favorite album from them. But I've always prefered Silver Mt. Zion and GY!BE from Constellation more. Constellation is prolly my most favorite label ever.

Regarding the picture: I love it.

Have you heard their latest releasE? it leaked last week. I dont know how to describe it. but if pub songs used post rock tunes, that would be played in an irish bar.

sounds very odd, but it's really really cool. Very poppy come to think of it, in a very good way tho :)

and thank you kindly

My first thought was "pictures of airships? interesting" then I clicked on it and saw the picture, then thought "maybe he painted over airships that were on the walls.." or perhaps that the wall is a sky, rather than a wall, and he's leaned against it saying good bye to their presence.

Downloading the song (as well as two other albums, since I only had one of theirs and was wondering why I never grabbed the rest) as I type.

The grainy look to the skin is an interesting sight amongst a composition filled with so much wall that isn't all one color/shade of white.

You nailed most of it. To me Goodbye enemy airships... is more about a mad person battling the demons in his mind. and he loses. As his dark soul begins escaping the wall turns back to white.

Thanks alot for the feedback, it's always fun seeing how people decipher my work :)
